Ms. V

MissV3.jpg

Ms. V utilizes a very modern approach to classical training practices to focus on helping dancers develop appropriate balance, stability, flexibility, technique and confidence while being conscientious of current influences. Over her 30 years of dance experience, modern, contemporary ballet, fusion and jazz have become her main focus due to their versatility without compromising proper technique and expressiveness.

Verity started her classical ballet and supplemental training (jazz, tap, and gymnastics) in Northern California at The Mendocino Ballet (Mary Morris) and The San Francisco Ballet School (Nancy Johnson, David Simmons). After moving to Virginia in 1991, she resumed taking ballet and pointe classes at The Evelyn Ott School of Dance. After being accepted to EOSOD’s competition team, Charisma Performing Company, she competed in regional and national dance competitions such as Dance Masters of America, Headliners, and Showstoppers with great success until 1994 under the tutelage of Ms. Denise Ott Land and Ms. Brenda Norman. From 1995-97, her studies brought her to private lessons with the renowned Ms. Marion Mease who opened her eyes to the possibility of dancing professionally.

Her professional career enabled her to perform in numerous productions from Las Vegas’ Circus Circus and The Sand Castle Dinner Theater in Guam, to modern pieces with Ballet West and exploration at The Kitchen (NY) among others. Verity’s experiences choreographing and performing numerous pieces on stages from Hong Kong to Canada instilled an insatiable hunger for cultural exploration through dance. Although she enjoyed traveling, performing, and studying various types of dance, Verity decided to settle down on Fort Bragg Army Base in North Carolina with her family in 2003 where she taught ballet, tap, acro and jazz classes for the MWR until 2008.

After moving to Vermont with her husband and three children in 2012, Verity choreographed and taught for Studio 3 Dance until relocating to Fort Wayne, IN in May 2020. She is very excited to start this new adventure!

Miss Akeisha

My name is Akeisha and I am going to be 24 years old in March. I was a dancer for eleven years and nine of those were spent on the competition team. I am trained in ballet, lyrical, modern, jazz, and hip hop. Other passions that I have furthered my education in are Cosmetology and Interior Design. I received my cosmetology license through the vocational program I attended through my high school. After graduating at Garrett High School in 2016 I attended IPFW, known currently as Purdue Fort Wayne. I graduated with my bachelors in Interior Design in 2020. Along with teaching dance classes I am an Interior Designer part time. I have two little boys. They are almost 3 years old and 1.5 years old. I spend most of my time at home taking care of them. I also have a fiancée who I have been with for 9 years and we are getting married in August of this year.
